Li Weingerl was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1979. He moved to Switzerland at the age of 6 years where he has been living since. After his studies, he oriented towards many different forms of art expression as puppets, jazz music (doublebass), danse, video and finally photography. His artistic credo involves a refined, well-considered vision of the world: he aims to capture the essence of nature and its relation to mankind, and searches for the void to
facilitate a subject's existence. His artistic approach is a highly epurate vision of the world. He catches the essence of nature and its relation to mankind, searching for the spirit of emptyness to let the subject live. His photographs inspire a quite introspection : through their simplicity of composition, the harmony of lines, shapes and colours, Li's images inspire a neutral state of mind. The attention is focused on the wide, the open. No borders or limits to distract us from the matter. They link us to the void, to the emptyness we need, to be able to create the new.
